Lemon Laws apply here...regardless of the "as-is" statement made by the seller.

He has 90 days total to make the vehicle pass or... you're entitled to your money back. If he's been notified within this 90 days then he's liable for the repairs to get the vehicle to pass. And still your options are 3 attempts to repair the vehicle for the same issue ... and it's a lemon.

Even with 4k miles on it....if its broke ...its broke. You're entitled to full disclosure. Simply stating sold as is does not offer any transparency on the working condition of the vehicle. It would need to be "Sold as is with Modified exhaust sensors or CPU programming to bypass O2 sensors". Without that disclosure...the seller is responsible. On so many levels the transaction was just wrong.

..

And... just a suggestion....have you tried swapping out the O2 sensors as a baseline.... Assuming the current ones are not faulty is a mistake. Swapping with a known good working or new unit would rule this out.

Not yet, going to try and have the OBD re-flashed. I sure it wasn't CAI or tune that caused my problem. I have returned everything to stock and the sensors still will not enable it is most likely a OBD problem. Don't let my problem discourage you from moving forward will your modifications.

OBD re flashed? do you mean you will go to the dealer and have them reflash the stock PCM?

Keep us updated cuz i really want to know hope this works out for you. Besides this emission crap, is the mustang running well?

also btw i suggest from my experiences, when its a problem that can have many solutions, take it to a reputable ford dealer and have them fix it, because they know the cars well and have all the ford equipment to fix it. otherwise if u go to a small shop trying to save money u end up just going from shop to shop and sometimes get newer problems without fixing the main problem, and end up spending more money.

now that you have the stock CAI+tune, i'd say just go to the dealer and tell them how ur failing emissions and let them fix it and get the headache out of the way

hey jay I talked to my buddy who tunes cars for a living, and I told him about your situation and he basically said that "if you flashed to a stock tune and your sensors are still showing as "not ready" then you are not on a stock tune. Either the tune got messed up or a different "stock" tune was loaded on the tuner then the actual Ford "stock" tune.

So basically, if you got your stock airbox on, go to the dealer and get the stock tune flashed, it will cost about $100 or so, and after that you should be good to go!

and i cant remember, is ur tune from bama? because after your back on stock tune and pass emissions, you should get a bama tuner and have them send you a new tune and tuner so you can save the ford factory stock tune on ur new tuner, then have a nice new tune with all your mods and be awesome!

I"ll try that.

The thing I don't understand if the stock tune is bad shouldn't the Bama tune activate the sensors or opposite way around.
This reads better than a Steven King Novel.
Hopefully the re-flash works and THANKS for the information. I'm waiting for the snow / rain to clear up and I will schedule appointment.
