Default Tried to solder new stepper motor now no speedometer

So I started getting the dreaded stepper motor issue on my speedometer. So I ordered the kit off ebay with upgraded stepper motors and came with a solder pen tool and attempted to do it myself. After the first attempt it seemed to work but while trying to reset the needles the speedometer would always spike upon startup for some weird reason. So I tried to take it apart and put a new motor in to see what it does. This is where I think I may have screwed up the whole cluster. Well, while trying to get the old motor out of one of the pines I noticed one of those rings off the circuit board came off with the pin of the stepper motor. And I tried to press it back on but now I have no speedometer at all. Great! So is the whole thing now trashed? And is there any decent options on reman clusters with programming if that's now my only option?

Check ebay and just choose a cluster that's close to your mileage, that way you won't need to reprogram.

Eh....that is one of those things I'd prefer to keep accurate. I guess I could price a used one and ship it off to one of those repair places that are listed on eBay. I believe a few could program them for a few if you include vin and mileage. Is there anything that would prevent my car from starting with another instrument cluster?

I know a lot of the guys selling on ebay also are capable of reprogramming them.I know when I was looking for a cluster for my old F150 that I saw many of the sellers had an add-on option for programming for an extra fee.
