Default Street engine advice needed

So I have a 2007 GT and about 4-5 grand to build the motor with. My goal is to have around 400-450 whp and be decently streetable on pump gas. What would be the cheapest way to get where I want? (all motor, supercharged, turbocharged) Thanks for any and all help!

It's a no brainer. Go for the Department of Boost GT450 supercharger kit.

Supercharger would be most likely the easiest way to get there. If the power goal is 400 you wouldn't need to build the motor. I believe 450 is pushing the threshold. Many have done it and been fine some have had catastrophic failure. If you went the route of all motor 4-5k would not get you there. So I would scrap that idea. Many have tried and it really does get expensive.

Most importantly is who u choose to do the tune. The power goals you have set along with going the route of supercharger keeps the list of tuners capable long. But it is something that you want to consider and pick someone who is reputable. Too many times we see people picking a shop that doesn't really have knowledge and they have problems. So do a bit of research, pick a couple of tuners and then call them. It doesn't hurt to call them and have a conversation about what your expectations are. A reputable shop will answer everything you ask.

Adding power to your car is a great feeling but as you know the more power you add the more supporting mods you need to add. Dont overlook suspension, transmission and other areas that will help. A oil catch can would be a good idea. Most definitely a bigger transmission oil pan along with a tranny catch can. This is important as the transmission oil will heat up, expand, and then flow out of the tube. Basically running you low of tranny oil without you really knowing. Leading to mechanical failure. These mods are relatively cheap and can be done on your own with basic knowledge.

Yeah, I was looking at the Vortech v2 kit on American muscle. Any other kits you would recommend?
