Hello everyone, had my 2013 GT for a little bit now and did some research because I cant stand freezing to death in the morning and saw the late model S197s had an option for remote start. Lethal performance and Tasca still sell the OEM remote starter, not sure if it comes with instructions though because it recommends dealer installation, which I really don't want to do because there isn't a Ford Dealer that close. Anyone done this before or know how to do it and can provide some insight? Thank you!

I would suggest reaching out to Lethal Performance to ask the question as you're most likely to get a response from them vs the dealer or Ford. In my experience, if the item/kit is offered as an aftermarket item, it will come with instructions for the DIYer and Dealer service center that wants to add it on..

 

My thoughts went to the exact same place, as well as to a post years ago about a kid that insisted on putting one in his manual car. Only to have it run into a pond by his local dealership. What was his name? Luckydawg? Or something similar.

I'm sure someone here other than me has been around long enough to remember that thread.

 

I don't recall his name but he is the "poster child" for why you don't put remote start in a manual car. He was upset because the tech left it in gear and then he used the remote start and watched his car drive into a pond.
