757........ Charge motion plates, re-gear....I do not know if it's possible but I hope to get those numbers with no more than the CAI and Brenspeed tune, underdrive pulleys, with a looser tourque converter and solid trailing arms. OH.. and some sticky tires.

you should have no problem running 8.30's with all the mods you are going to do. i ran 8.60's in the 1/8 with just sct tune, alum d/shaft, 25 psi rear tire pressure and 3.73 gears. the converter dropped me to 8.30's with 1.84 60' times. need a good tune for all the stuff i've put on and this car will run in the 12's no problem. best 13.08@103

Tires, tires, tires...they DO make a difference on every track. NEVER use BF Goodrich Drag Radials, or any drag radials for that matter. They utilize the same rubber as regular street tires and are useless. The ONLY good street/drag tire for the new stang is the Mickey Thompson ET STEET (not ET Drag Radial) it utilizes the same compound as drag slicks and once you get em' sticky, you can launch. My car pulls amazing 60' (always under 1.7) and although I have a lot of mods, the tires play a crucial role. Track conditions are always a factor too and it sounds like you had pretty crappy conditions that day. Don't get discouraged and if you haven't done it yet, put some new gears on your ride with the ET Street tires and you will shave a second off your time.

how did it hook? i think BFG drag radials are fine for an auto but if i had a stick i would get a set of M&H or M/T drag radials. they really are slicks with a couple grooves in them. the M/T radial is the same compound that the stock eliminator guys run on their slicks. some of those cars run low 10's and are always wheels up launches.
i was full weight except spare tire. mine hooks okay at 30psi but really good at 23-25psi and a light burnout.

launching hard with a stickshift and stock tires takes alot of practice. you will get there just keep running and trying different things. write on your timeslip what you did different on each run so later you can analyze them to see what works for you. mine is easy i got an auto with a high stall converter. i probably will never see a 1.60 60' time but i'm going for consistancy and speed.
