POST YOUR 1/8 MI. TIMES....PLEASE

launching hard with a stickshift and stock tires takes alot of practice. you will get there just keep running and trying different things. write on your timeslip what you did different on each run so later you can analyze them to see what works for you. mine is easy i got an auto with a high stall converter. i probably will never see a 1.60 60' time but i'm going for consistancy and speed.

Spyder, with 30 psi it hooks okay 2.0 60ft was my best, normally 2.1s. The problem I run into is it spins hard going into 2nd and 3rd and every now and then it will chirp 4th. I eventually want to get MT ET streets for my car.
I was on an 1/8 mile track on friday night and pulling amazing 60's. I use mickey thompson ET Streets with 4.10 gears and I always pull under 1.8 60'. I usually keep about 15psi in the tires but I wantd to try something new and ran the Mickey Thompson ET Streets with 11.5 psi and it made a pretty significant difference. My best 60' was 1.546 and my worst was 1.678. I was doing significant burnouts and I was launching the car at 5000 rpm with no tire spin and just animal launches. It was a cool 64 degrees (cool for cali) and at night. Going to the 1/4 next saturday at California Raceway in the day for a good comparison. Definitely going to keep 11.5 psi unless somethig changes.

I had very bad problems with mine doing the same after I installed the tune. I have gone back into the tune and changed my line presure, shift profile, and lock up RPM. I now just barely chirp 1-2 and none after that. My issue now is I shift just before the 60ft so my time is weak, my best ever 60ft. was a 1.98. I cross both the 1/8th and the 1/4 in 3rd gear. I bumped up my WOT shift point from 3-4 so it would hold 3rd until about 6400rpm and allow me to cross the 1/4 in third. Otherwise I was shifting again right before the line. I plan to add solid trailing arms and a looser torque converter. I want to be able to get good runs on street rubber but I'm afraid I will have to get something sticky to be able to really put it down.

i have lost some shift firmness after installing the converter. i think this can be resolved on my dyno tune. i really think i will be quicker by locking up the converter in 2nd gear or at the end of 1st. once i'm launched i don't see the need to have any slippage through the torque converter. it should pick up et and mph. i'll just have to play with it some to get it perfect. so far i have had a 1.84 60' on stock rubber. i'm sure it's spinning just not noticable. i don't think the drag radials are going to pick me up too much but i'm getting them for consistancy anyway. i feel once i get the suspension done and a dyno tune i can get 1.7 60' times and mid 12's with my auto. i will be satisfied with that for a while.
