Default Traction control

Sometimes the traction control hampers my performance. For example I may take off fast and then the tires will hang up and the message center will read traction control (something). Is it unsafe to drive without it.

I never drive with the traction control on. Basically it is hampering the fun factor of driving. Actually stating never is wrong. If I got caught in a snow storm I would use it.

Same. It goes off as soon as the car is on.

FIRST thing I do after starting the car is take of traction control. This step is cruicial and should proceed the act of putting your seatbelt on.

BTW, I have an xcal2 and I thought you could turn it off with that so you don't have to turn it off manually when you start the car. Has anyone done this?

I usually drive with the TC engaged, but when I come to an intersection or situation where I want to accelerate quickly (for safety reasons only!), I turn the TC off. I do not want the TC management system to slow things down as I try to merge into traffic. I can feather the gas pedal enough to minimize tirespin (if that's my intention) and get the car moving as quickly as possible. Otherwise, I leave it on and forget about it.

Is there any mod out there that can make it so TC is off by default and needs to be turned on to use.

I believe both the Preditor and the XCal will let you reverse the TC control.. but... they also reverse the light... when the light if off... so is the TC.. and when the light is ON saying it is OFF... the TC is ON.. LOL...

Professer is right so it's more confusing to switch it. TC is for old ladies...

Say what you will about traction control, but it does work. I usually turn it off, but I do feel a lot better having it when I'm driving in heavy rain. I've felt it kick in a couple of times on the highway.
