In either case, he shouldn't have "beaten the **** out of you." I'm sure you're not used to the vehicle or you just can't drive because he shouldn't have ^^^^^^^^^^^^

HP is not everything. My mustangs have always been daily drivers, and I gave up a slightly modded 2003 SVT Vert (398 rwhp, 389 tq) for a bone stock 2006 GT for driveability. That Cobra clutch and Cobra ride SUCK when you have to deal with them in stop-n-go traffic for 45 minutes twice a day (not to mention the monthly trips to the dealer to have the d@mn leaking top adjusted!)

These new mustangs are a good looking, comfortable ride that is easy to drive. And who really likes the Cavalier-on-steriods GTO body style anyway? If I wanted a Chevy product, the 2001-02 Z28 or TZam's look much better. (or a vette, I don't think any honest mustang fan could seriously say they wouldn't drive one for at least a little while!)

Arguing about GT vs. GTO is kinda ridiculous! I mean you're talking about STREET RACING? Who wants to be seen in public on that glorified Honda civic body of a new GTO?
If I want a race car then I might go GM but I drive on the streets and have to look at my car every day! I'd hate to look at that crappy Pontiac in my parking spot! And I know nobody would ever come over to talk to me about my new car!

Unfortunately my Cobra did pull a lot harder than this car and only had 21K on it when I sold it, [&o] but I figured I would blow it up if I kept it. I can drive this new car any way I want and it just takes it without feeling like it is going to break.

Those old body Cobra's were fast, but my vert was just twisting itself to pieces (body creaked, drop top always leaked, doors leaked, never could balance ridiculous 275/40 tires for very long, and it tracked like a 4x4 in muddy ruts on worn highway roads (pulled left and right constantly even with proper alignment).

This new mustang is a pleasure to take on trips rather than a chore and none of the previous generation complaints.

i know i am just a lil newbie but all these time people report, 12.99 and 13.33 by C&D or R&T or M.T. is on a professional course with a top notch driver in a car eith no spare tire and the trunk guts stripped out, and not tomention they light up the tires before runnin, you take the two cars at a light with cool-semi warm tires and you both gun it the goat will jst spin for a shile while the lighter more agile stang will take off with a nice loud squeel, after that it is adrivers race because all the goat has to do is catch 2nd or 3rd a little to hard and hes just gonna loose traction, any way just my $0.02
