forged internals???
cobra cranks run from 400-700 and rod/piston combos from mod max are about 700 i think. they have a rotating assy. deal for 1200 i think comes with rods/pistons/rings,bearings and cobra crank. noe the stock crank is not too bad it should hold about 600hp then you will need a forged crank. if you are going to do this i suggest paying an extra few bucks and building a stoker. i think you can get 5.1 with modifying the block. and with the big bore darton sleeve kit you can go to 5.4 or larger. theres no replacement for displacement! thats what the hillbillys say, except they forgot about rpm,n2o and boost.
I'm not too knowledgeable on this topic but I do remember several people saying that it wasn't a good idea to stroke the 4.6 for some reason. If you research it a bit I am sure you can find it. Like I said, not my area of expertise but I know it's been said.
i'll check out this monthsMM&FF magazine to see if the add is still there. i think it was mod max? i don't know of any reason why not to stoke a mod motor but this is my first one i've tried to modify. i have plenty of experience with other ford pushrod engines since we have raced windsors, clevelands and 460's in the past all of which were stroker combinations. i think there may be an issue as to how much stroke the block can handle. there may not be enough clearence for enough stroke to make it worth the expense. fro instance if i didn't get at least 30 cu. in. i wouldn't do it.

PS - There is no replacement for displacement ...LOL and the hillbillies are all squeezing now.
