I have had the car for a year now. I had one 1 instance of the CD ERROR or I think mine said BAD DISK FORMAT anyhow believe it or not it was on one of my OZZY CD's and was part way into it. I did the load CD thing and it popped right out and played again the next time. But I have since burned everything i have into MP3 formatt. This is the $hit!!! I currently have 22 CD's in the Shaker and I am thankfull I have not had any problems with reading or skipping. I have been personally pretty impressed that the sound quality has remained intact because some music just has to be loud, so far no buzzing or popping from any of the speakers.

It's been 1 year for my '05 GT,all fun
I have no problems with '500.
I only play cd's.
I'm probably cursed to have a problem now though.

I also have the gap between songs. I've researched this a bit, and it doesn't look like there is a fix for this yet. If you get it swapped out for another one, it will just be another one that does the same thing, as most of them do this. I just don't think enough people notice it or care for it to be an issue, but I think it's horrible.... I have NEVER heard a CD player put pauses between songs before this one... the $1300 upgrade, as apposed to say, every cheap 20 or 30 dollar "jam box" I have ever popped a CD into...
Pretty sad that the speakers sound so good, but then they went "cheap" with the player itself...
You also can't rewind in to the previous song... if you want to hear something at the end of a song the only way to do it is to start at the beginning of the song and FF... I mean, that's just junk... I would expect that out of a 20 dollar system, not a $1300!!

Mine just started skipping on songs after 1000 miles (6 months old), and I brought it back to the dealer and they ordered me another one. SHould be in soon. All I told them was it skips and they said Ok we'll get you another.

I had 3 Shaker 1000s in my 2005 V6 within the first 2 months of ownership. This third one is working now. Make the dealer replace it under warranty, and then if or when it breaks when your car is out of waranty, put in something else.

Streetrod Steve, does yours have the pause between songs? It's hardly noticable on a song with a normal fade out, but playing something like a live album, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I have researched it too. I have also come to the conclusion that I will install an aftermarket changer myself. I am most thrilled that mine was a premium GT and I didn't spend that kind of money on a POS.
