Default heater/ defrost

I've noticed that when I have the heater **** set to the first position, (heat, floor only) most of the air comes out thru the defrst and not much to the floor. About the same as when it's set for floor/defrost. I know at least one other has this problem. Does yours? Is there a fix?

I have the same problem when I got mine back in March I carried it in for service and told them of the problem they said at this time Ford has no fix yet. I called back a couple of times and the same thing was said. I see you have a 06 so obviously they have not fixed the problem yet.

I'd just figured out last night how to drive with warm feet...turn selector to the left(dash+floor) and close dash vents. if fan at 3 or lower speed it wont whistle...bad nes is 5 minutes later windshield foggs up.

interesting thing about this though is it proves the defrost vent CAN be closed by door mechanisms in plenum, so its more likely some kind of selector/control plumbing problem. If I ever tear into my dash, I'll find out.
