RE: Positive or Negative feedback on CDC hood struts
I have the ones at the link below, and love them.
Easy install, looks good, and doesn't get in the way when I lean in from the side.

RE: Positive or Negative feedback on CDC hood struts
I like the look of the shorter MRT struts- but gotta wonder if the hinges will hold up under 'forward' strut pressure when closed? Looks like the longer(pushing back on hinges) ones although a little in the way might pivot further out and decrease pressure when closed(do they go overcenter when closed?)Does the hood try to flex AT ALL when you try to close it? how many with struts get hood shake at highway speeds?
Sorry for 20 questions, but I've been thinking about these, just worried about bowing the hood from the pressure over a few years...
My 85 camaro (bought new) had the struts for the glass hatchback, and after about 10 years the spoiler was noticably sticking out the rear of the car, by 20 years it was about 1/2 inch...It looked like the pressure slowly distorted the rubber bushings at the hinge bolts, and the 'trunklid' extention bolted to the glass also slowly slid back. I realize the mustang has metal hinges, just worry about aluminum hood bowing up over time due to strut pressure combined with airpressure on highyway and vibration...any thoughts appreciated

RE: Positive or Negative feedback on CDC hood struts
I just bought the MRT Hood Struts painted black. They said all I'd need is a 10mm to install with no drilling. That's good, considering I have no garage, no power outlet and few tools. Oh, and am all thumbs when it comes to working under the hood! They look like they'll be compatible w/ my hood protector, which has a strap attached about 2 feet down the hood in one of the holes.
