Nitrous Spray Cooling...

Nitrous Spray Cooling...
So i had this idea last nite about purging nitrous with two small jets into the C&L intake heat shield area., not directly into the intake tract. I am skeptical on jetting the car with a full 50-100 shot, seeing as tho the ZEX kit is about the only way to go today... I had a nitrous kit on my old mustang before.. worked great for about a year or so then i could just feeling the car getting weaker and weaker.. ( essentially erroding the engine internals) ... I decided not to take the chance with the stang...
I decided since i have two purge valves to jet in intake heat shield area with two jets. I think the jets work out to be about a 25-30 shot.. but not directly spraying nto the intact tract works more for a cooling effect than anything. ( just what i wanted) Especially seeing as tho on those hot track days the intake temps get up in the 125-150 levels. My camera is broken so i will take pics as soon as possible, but my preliminary testing has shown ( on a 50 degree day) to drop the air intake temps to about -30 lol... No with a combination, headlight removal and an intake spray i am hoping for a good gain or at least a consistancy situation in the Q-mile on those hot days.

RE: Nitrous Spray Cooling...
but isn't the intake still "sucking" up the nitrous?
maybe not as much and it would be considered a "dry" shot, but how safe is it on your engine or does it make a difference at all other than cooling the air?
thanks

RE: Nitrous Spray Cooling...
I did some initial testing... Had to add 1% richer on MAF at full WOT with the tuner to get optimum air/fuel ratios.... no change in timing.. 93 octane fuel.. seems to run strong..

I know what you are saying here, turbo cars will spray n2o/co2 onto the intercooler to help reduce intake air temps and it works well. I don't think this will cool your intake charge enough to see much of a difference but I would'nt mind seeing you try it on a dyno just to see if it does anything.
