Brake fluid Reservoir Cap leak

RE: Brake fluid Reservoir Cap leak
You know I need to check mine. When I got it last week, there was some excess fluis near where that seal is, but I figured the dealer had just overfilled it slightly. Now I'm curious to as if it were leaking when I first got the damn thing!

RE: Brake fluid Reservoir Cap leak
Ive just had my 06 GT for 2 weeks, the guys at work just had to get a good look, one of the guys pointed the leak out to me, went to the dealer they ordered the cap and it was in next day so it was a quick fix, no leaks on new cap

RE: Brake fluid Reservoir Cap leak
Id read on another forum that the 'leak' is a crosscut slit in rubber cap seal for breathing, and fluid sloshing around eventually gets out...heard running fluid level around middle helps a lot, but basically they all leak- caution to everyone- wipe it off occasionally, as if it builds up enough, it will collect around the side seam until it drips off- and brake fluid will remove paint if it runs down firewall. I think this is exactly why all old master cylinders did NOT have breathers, but instead had accordion shaped seal that would suck in as fluid level dropped...I assume they are using a silicone based fluid now that wont absorb moisture??? I certainly hope so, as they breathe now.
