Default Steeda CAI

Looking at getting my first Mustang GT in a few weeks , but I was wondering about the Steeda CAI with the SCT Xcaliber 2 tune and the implications that would have on warranty work. I'm going to be a first time mustang owner and I wanted to know if that would void the warranty or pose potential problems having warranty work done at the dealership. Thanks in advance!

If something happens to your car and the service dept. can prove that your CAI and Tuner caused the problem, then the warranty could possibly be voided. If the radio craps out, the dealership cannot void anything just because you have a CAI and tuner on the car.....theres a federal warranty act called the Magnuson (sp?) Moss Warranty Act that spells it out for you.

Any thoughts on the performance added? Are the gains posted mustangtuning.com accurate? Are there better systems out there? Thanks.

I think the performance between all the CAI kits is similar....there might 1 or 2 hp difference. I just installed my C&L CAI yesterday and reflashed for 93 octane....I could tell a difference from the stock airbox to the new system. CAI kits are like mufflers I guess, just depends what look/sound/style you want.....performance is all comparable

Steeda worked with FORD SVT team in making their CAI for Ford Mustangs. IT WILL NOT VOID WARRANTY. I saw it in print...search in Steeda web site or ford svt...

r u could always just swap in your stock airbox whenever u have service. i bought an extra MAF, so it's only a 5 minute process to swap boxes and reflash the chip b/f service.

Up here in Montreal, Canada there's no potential warranty issues. I will be getting the same setup as you (Steeda and SCT).
