Roush talk I read today were roush comming out with pistons for 3v this summer. Also rumors of them having a motor swap program for those who want 500+ from roushcharger. Now that the proper way to do it can't get any better then that. Some mention whipple??? What a joke They are not even out yet they still have got no one to make em yet. Still Roush race records in all types of racing handsdown can't be be beat. In one of the Mustang mags this month there is good article on roush going back to his dragracing roots. Roush Rules !!! lol

Come on, let's not just throw crazy numbers out there off the top of our heads. I LOVE roush and was even offered a sponsorship from Jack and Tony personally. My car is hand signed by Jack Roush so I'm certainly not anti-roush but 400 rwhp??? Not in this lifetime on that roush charger. Heck, if it could make 400 - that would be awesome. The sad truth is the best a PROFESSIONAL driver could run in the 1/4 on roush's own car was 13.46 - a whopping 2-3/10's faster than stock. For 6K no less. There is no way that roush charger is giving anyone more than 350 hp. BTW - here's a couple of pics of Jack in my car...

Edit - the orginal concept from Roush was to go with a whipple screw charger NOT a roots. Man, how I wish they would have stuck to their orginal plans and we wouldn't even be having this conversation.... lol

I'm not sure why the Roush's own car only ran a 13.46 1/4 maybe he was spinning his tires all the way down the strip due to the power lol. I just picked up my dealer installed Roush charger yesterday and I can say with out a doubt it is a hell of a lot more powerful than stock. 400 rwhp does seem a bit high but I would bet it's somewhere around 360-380. I'll post mine when I get it dyno'd. While it may not be the most powerful, IMO Roush has the best setup as far as looks, engineering and longevity is concerned.

Ill be at bristol for Test and Tune Friday the 10th, at 5:00 pm. Ill gladly ost my slips for all to see. They will probably cover a pretty wide range, causeIm not a very experienced driver, but I was pulling 14.0 at 99 mph last season stock( Ok, with drag radials, but otherwise stock). SO I can assure you I will beat the numbers above. I fully expect something in the 12's, it just has waaaay more power. As I see it, If I get in the 12 second range, even 12.99, Who the heck cares what the HP rating is? I have to wear a helment now, and thats all that matters.

BTW, I was giving a former State Highway Patrolman a spin the other day, and he said that my stang is the fastest car he has ever been in. What better compliment? Roush Rules.

OK, Best time for bristol, and Im a crappy driver, 13.29 quarter mile at 105.9 mph. HAHAHA. I am sure a good driver could pull a 12.9, because I hit the rev limiter once, and spun out of the traps, and spun every shift but the final, when I hit the limiter. 1.998 60' time. I am Waaaay happy with my roush, and knowing that when we finished, while everyone else loaded the cars on trailers to take home, I changed my tires and drove back home UNDER WARRANTY.

Well at least someone finally posted some REAL numbers. These times are about average and to be expected from the roush charger. Congrats and good run(s) Lucy. And maybe some of you didn't see the part of my post about how I LOVE roush...LOL - geez, I'm not putting the company down. Heck, Jack has five cars this year in the running for the nextel cup and I too read that awesome article on Jack getting back to his drag racing roots with his friends and family. and YES, you can get a 1000+ HP motor from Roush but let's not get way off topic. What we are talking about is specifically the roush charger for the 05/06 mustang and it's 'bang for the buck' value which is poor IMO vs. every other s/c available.

Owner pride is great but let's keep it real. Dollars for dollars, the Roush charger makes the least power of all the available s/c's for our cars.. plain and simple, it's a fact - no debate. You can say you are happy as heck with it and that's great for all you guys with one, but your personal satisfaction doesn't count for squat when talking about cold hard HP numbers. The facts are what they are. Having said that, for some reason, many people seem to be obsessed with the factory warranty and if that is the heart and soul of your driving existence, then I would say the Roush is probably for you. But I would also suggest buying a Kia if you're so worried about someone picking up the tab if your car breaks. I have never heard of a single car blowing up with a saleen s/c with 400-430 rwhp and I deal with hundreds of s/c new stangs. Now for the die hard Roush fans, then it's a matter of having what you want and I certainly wouldn't say anything negative to that - I say koodos to you for having what you want. But when someone asks for s/c advice on these forums, it's not really fair to give them opinions based on your personal love of a product, you should really base it on some kind of facts. Otherwise, some guy who may not be the biggest roush fan is going to be out a lot of money for something that may not give him/her what they expected.

EDIT - BTW Lucy, I run 11.20's and drive my car home with the heater on and listening to the radio without a worry in the world about my car. Next month, I'll be running high 9's/low 10's and driving my car there and back with the heater and radio on with no worries. It IS a great feeling while your watching guys trailer their cars...

Is this BS?

http://www.roushperf.com/feature_rou...ger_must.shtml

I thought we could trust Roush???
You can trust Roush but be sure your read the 'performance obtained and corrected...' info on the top of the dyno. I believe those numbers to be accurate FLYWHEEL hp numbers.

I guess Im just real happy with what I have and get a little defensive over it. Kinda like when a crowd is looking at my mustang and someone points out the qualities the New Camaro is supposed to have. I actually told several people at the track exactly what you have in your post, that you can get more HP for the money with another brand, but that right now, Saleen and Roush had the warranties. And, to be perfectly honest, the roush name has eye appeal. Everyone wanted to look at the car with the Roush kit on it, and that is kinda nice too. It is the overall package that I am satisfied with, that I dont think I could have gotten with another company. Especially with the full knowledge that I can pully down and get more horsepower, but lose the warranty. True, with those "in the know" brand name isnt a priority, but with a car that you are going to race one weekend, show the next, its nice to have a package that looks good and works well also. I guess I am interested in getting all I can out of the car, while maintianing epa requirements, warranty, and the look of a "factory" or "dealer" car. Once my warranty has expired, and I get burned by a couple new stangs, then Ill start to look elsewhere for power, perhaps. Maybe Ill just garage it and hope the "Roush Package" retains value. Either way, I am very satisfied, and based on my experiences, I will definitely reccomend it to anyone looking for the combination of power, warranty, and name recognition on a clean package that accents the engine compartment nicely. Hey, Im honest about it. But Kudos to you and your pony, and I appreciate your input on this and several other threads.
