Default any issues?

Im going to look at a mach 1 with 25k miles on it next weekend with my dad. Lookin to trade on up possibly. The price is at 19k and i was wondering

A. are there any issues i should look for when i go check out the car that the mach's seem to get often?

B. does that seem like a good price to you guys? Im going to try to haggle it of course, but i figure i can get 18ish for my car so im not really that worried about getting the price that much lower...but if that seems high i will try harder.

thanks guys.

Listen for a noticeable tick in the left cylinder head, and check the transmission (if a 5-speed) for shifting difficulties between 1-2 and 2-3. If neither issue is noted 19K is not a bad price, but 18K - 18.5 is more reasonable.

What is it about a tick in the left cylinder head? And shifting? Are these major problems associated with the mach?

Some early production mach's and terminators had a problem which manifested as a tick in the driver side cylinder head at the rear. It was not all cars. The problem was with the cylinder head. Look for a blue paint stripe on the heads of the car you are looking for, and go over to the Mach 1 registry and ask for someone to run an OASIS on the Mach you are looking at. If you have the blue stripe you are okay, that was a later production head and how you can differentiate a car that might have the problem and one that does not...

The tick is more common on the 03-04 cobra due to their FI, the #7,8 have dry spots in them and causes the tick, could go into more detail but thats the jest of it
