Imports absolutely suck anyhow.
Hey, what do y'all think about this for a license plate. MD has 7 characters.

"MPRTSUK"

I think its a pretty ****ty plate. People need to get over the "Imports suck" thing. Ricers just give the nice imports a bad image and then all the American car enthusiasts jump on the "imports are slow and suck" bandwagon.

How come the new V6 Honda Accord can run a 14.0 in the quarter mile?

How come the Honda S2000 can make 240HP out of a 2.0 Liter (2.2 on AP2's)?

Just get over the fact that imports aren't all slow.

all imports are defiantly not slow...with a couple bolt ons (tune, inlet pipe, CAI) I was even w/ a GT in my GTI...thats 1.8t vs. 4.6...i have alot of respect for imports but its the ricers that ruin it for everybody

+1 for imports are not slow. But don’t take my word for it, prove it to yourself. Go out on the streets and look for a supra. A 240sx with a sr20 or Ka turbo ( big turbo) will hang with cobras with upgraded super chargers. What that thing that give them and advantage.. Oh yeah power to weight ratio.

Whoa nelly! Trust me, you have no argument here on any of those points. It's so ignorant to actually think those things. Some of us justreally have a little fun with it as it goes back and forth. The bottom line is that we're all car guys...and gals. Was absolutely amazed by my friends Z and valet parked so many foreign high performance exotics that blew me away. Can't say any comparably priced American car could come close to any imports on a road course. I'm one of the few left who likes to think the America actually makes a great vehicle and couldn't consider buying a vehicle where much more of the $ spent on it doesn't stay in our country, but it's not a big deal. So,it's all good, I didn't mean it like that, and it's all in good fun. Okay?

Okay, cool then broham. IMO, the gas mileage difference is overestimated. Smaller c.i.d. and less lbs. is supposed to add up to gobs of advantages on mpg, but my mach, no different than any other one, runs on double the cyl. of most imports, weighs 3665 lbs with me in it, runs a mid to high 12 in the 1/4 on street tires....and got a little over 27 mpg last week on a trip, with 3.55s ofcourse.Nobody raves aboutthese statsthough, kinda bugs me.

I wasn't trying to rip you apart. It was just your comment that started me on a rant. Sorry if you took it differently.

One of my best friends drives an S2000 and my other friend is looking for a 350Z. I know my friend was always kidding around with me about American cars being ****ty quality. It pissed me off even though I am not strictly an American car driver. I don't make fun of his Honda because it is a nice car.

A little friendly joking around is ok, but completely knocking on imports as a whole just isn't right in my book.

Serious question, does the new Accord really run a 14.0? Sources?

I'd love to know. I know it makes good power, but so did the 350z for a 6cyl and it was lighter and rwd, and it gets a low 14. I also read that the new Accord limits power in 1st and 2nd gear, traction reasons I guess.
