Default Another gear thread?! Yes.

So i'm getting paid this week and it'll be time for some more mods. I'm definitely going O/R H, not even a question, but i'm thinking about going to a 4.10 or 4.30 gear.

I race if I'm in the right situation, I just happen to do a lot of rolling pulls, even though i'm not really a fan. Roll racing isn't really a real race IMO, but I like to be able to embarrass some of the cars I run with. I'll probably be seeing the track quite a bit this summer, as well. With our redline, I don't think running out of gear with either ratio will be an issue.

Will a 4.30 destroy my roll capabilities? I've always heard go big or go home, as well as don't fear the gear. MPG isn't really a problem, i've always believed gears don't change your mileage, your right foot does. I also heard 4.10 is even better than 4.30 for 1/4 times!

This is all so confusing..any input's appreciated, guys.

is there a power adder in the future?

if there is just do 4.10's. if yuor going to stay N/A and still want to have good streetability go with the 4.30's.....well a guy here went 7's (1/8th) with the 430's and out ran 400hp cars with them as well.

no link it was back in 04 and no one thought to get a camera on him.... but his setup was 4.30's DR's intake exhaust

I had 4.30 gears, a Magnaflow X-pipe with catalytic converters, and a C&L mass air kit with the Tru-Flow elbow. That's it for mods.

***PS i just asked him personally and his time was 8.29 not 7.xx like i said above.....damn i've been wrong 3 times today[:@]

Well I do plan on spraying a 100 shot in the near future, but I would think since spraying at 2.5k+ wouldn't be that much of a problem.

So i'm not sure if you'd consider that n/a, considering it's not a blower/turbo.

it's just juice, but yeah even with it it will cause acceleration quickly, but once your hooked to the black top i dont think it'll matter to much....but for when the bottle isnt filled .....yeah 4.30's are sounding good for you man.

Make sure you get some good tires first. No matter how much gear you have, they are not going to help without traction.
