450* until the powder melts; usually 4-5 minutes. Then 400* for 20 minutes. If you leave it in too long, it will burn and darken.

Small/thin parts I just prep, coat, and bake. But bigger parts - like heads, manifolds, bellhousing - I pre-bake them at about 150*-200* to get the metal warm to the core.

From prep to install is usually less than 1 hour.

so before you bake them you pre bake them then coat and bake again?

Yeah, big parts like heads take a lot of time to warm up. You'll get better powder adhesion if it's a little warm to begin with. Otherwise, the mass will transmist the heat energy without heating the surface well. The powder heats and melts, but the surface isn't warm enough.

Small parts don't require that.
