Default Thinking about Selling 05 GT for Mach 1

Hey,

I currently have a 2005 Mustang GT. I'm seriously considering selling it and getting a Mach 1. I had the chance to drive a Mach 1 a few months ago and it was great. I ended up getting a great deal on the 05 so I went with that. Don't get me wrong, its a great car with some decent power, but it feels too civilized. I'm not quite sure how to explain it. When compared to driving the Mach 1 it feels like it has no 'soul'. Again, its hard to explain. The Mach 1 just feels like more of a muscle car too me. Maybe you guys can relate. Are there any members here who have had a s197 and went to a Mach 1? WOuld you consider it a down grade? Of course I'm asking Mach guys these questions, but any honest answers would be great! Thanks!

Hey if you enjoy the car more, there is no such thing as a downgrade.

Wow, that was deep! Good point. I don't owe any money on it, so that helps too!

A 4V engine has a different sweet spot than a 2V or 3V engine. Go with what you "feel" is best for you.

i was going to get an S197 before i got the mach, but they wanted to much so i just waited it out.
i've driven every type of mustang (minus gt500) that the local dealers have had in. v6 turbo 4's, 5.0's and i enjoy the mach 1 the most out of all of them

If you like it more than do it. I personally like the feel of the SN95's better although they don't come stock with panhards and stuff. I think the cars feel more raw than the S197's.

Aside from owning 2 foxes in addition to a Mach, I sold Mustangs at the local dealer for a bit and drove all of them...even a Ford GT! The S197s are upgraded a little on just about every comfort, such as a more modern suspension and more vibration dampening and sound deadening material. Any model of SN95 will let you feel the road more (which some don't prefer), and the added power of the Mach's, especially in the low end, will blow your hair back more. I...we...would say that going from a S197 to an SN95 is a definate upgrade. Apples-to-apples, Machs cost around $3k more...completely justified IMO. If ya want muscle...kinda sounds like ya do...buy a Mach. If ya want more refinement, stick with what ya got and mod it to your liking. Good luck!

I say do it. I sold my s197 GT to get my 04 cobra and I never regret doing it.

Cobra's are a whole different ball game all together. Im in the market for an 04 cobra, but back on topic, a Mach feels more connected to the road and the 05+ feel more refined and comfortable...I like the mach better, but could settle for an 05+.
