Heads AND cams in addition to the other mods and trans advantage...sounds like he should've taken ya. The intake spacer will do ya fine, much more bang for the buck than the expensive tb from what everyone on here has told me.

At the time of the race I had: MAC intake, MAC 75mm tb, C&L Plenum, OR/X and a Flowmaster Catback.

Now I have: Moroso spiralflow custom catback, 4.10s, h&r ss springs, c/c kit, and DD FR500s too.

He really needs a manual, I have to wait for his tranny to downshift before I go.

We need a rematch with my new mods on and his intake in.

try racing him from something other than a 40 roll, idk what it is but some of the automatic mustangs are just dead from a 40 roll its like they dont want to drop a gear when you floor it. i raced my buddys stock 02 gt in my 00 gt with all my mods in my sig from a 10 roll and i just pulled him about 2 car lengths and stayed there, then we went from a 40 roll and he instantly pulled a car length on me and i was reeling him in the rest of the way though. next time you see him hit it from a 20 kick or anything besides 40-45and see if that makes a difference.

+1.
40mph is a complete dead spot for our automatic Machs. A 50 mph roll is much stronger, but definetely DO NOT wait for your car to downshift. Manually pull it down to 2nd gear!! Or just go from a dig, or a low roll while holding car in first. If you try going from a 20mph roll, your car will be in 2nd gear and will not downshift to first half the time.

This race makes a lot more sense now.

any automatic musclecar in the world not downshifted manually FTL. Should be one hell of a race next time.
