help with my motor
well
im a body man and i work on countless cars a day. my wife drives the mach 1. she claims she told me to change the oil. however motor ran dry and blew a rod bearing or more. i dont know how to do engine rebuilding. so the logical thing for me to do is to get another motor. so i did. now im faced with this problem. i dont know of any one else (other than the dealer) that can rebuild this motor. i just want to get my car running again. my wife loved that car.

AWWWWWW how sweet. yeah if you can find a manual motor that would be best since you don want to rebuild yourself, but there are TONS of places in Texas that would rebuild the motor. i don't know what the mach motors are going for off the top of my head, but i would think somewhere around 4-6 grand.
The auto engine will handle the rpm's just fine, it may not like the 5k dumps some people do on the M5's (lol) but rpm wise it will be fine.
Ford lowered the rpms and the speed limiter on the A4 machs do to the trans not the forged crank. The TC in the A4 trans has a posibility to balloon over 6k, and I beleive it was something about the pump in th A4 was the issue to why it was limited to 126 mph insead of the 151 mph in the M5.

+1 to you man!!
well got me the right flywheel today. the guy at the salvage yard threw it in for free. sweet. in sure by the end weekend i will be done with the install. god i hope that motor runs. yalls info had been great!
ok, new problem. i might be skrewed. i put the motor in and now when i start it it makes an awfull ticking noise and then shuts off after 2 seconds. (no fuel) i read in the book that it has something to do with the camshaft sensor. i think this motor if fu*!ed up. off alighment. maybe a bent valve. the guy at the salvage yard is giving me a hard time with a refund. he wants to find me another motor for more money. WTF! i just cant win.
