Default I need your opinion

I found this supposed Mach 1 on craigslist and I am wondering if it could be a clone... it has the Mach 1 style interior but is missing emblems, hood decal, side skirt decals, etc... If its real it is a good price but what do you think?

Well, it's definitely NOT in showroom condition, like the ad says, without the striping! But, it definitely IS a Mach 1. If you really want to be sure, ask the seller for the vin#, if it has an "R" code for the eighth digit, then it's a Mach 1.

Ha. And the side skirts are black what the h***! Was just thinking I could fix it for just a little more money... Well I just found these ones on auto trader and they blow the white one out of the water lol. Hopefully I sell my car this weekend

The engine and all does look like it is but the lack of emblems and the weird stuff does make me wonder... but the Mach was available sans decals though

There was no stripe delete package for the Mach 1 from the factory. Short of having the VIN #, the easiest way to know it's a real Mach 1, is to look at the C-pillars. People may remove the the stripes and badging, and replace bumper covers and such, but very few would be willing to change the C-pillars out! The Bullitt and Mach 1's have very unique C-pillar posts that sharply cut back towards the front of the car, giving a more fast back look to the car, whereas all other Mustangs of these years have a fully curved C-pillar post.

The C - pillars are where? I think I just want to buy one that is correct and not pieced back together after some retard got a hold of it so I am willing to pay for it. Looks like I'm gunna have to travel a little to get one though. All the Machs in my area right now are expensive! like 18k...

don't get yourself into any financial strains!
just keep looking, but keep in mind sometimes a 500-1k mile drive is more than worth the extra effort.

The c-pillars, or sail panels, are the part of the roof that comes down behind the rear side windows and meets the rear quarter panels. On the Mach 1 and Bullitt models, it cuts back sharply toward the front of the car, on all other models, it's a gentle curve.

Never noticed that but now that I think about it I do see that difference when i think about the differences betweeen my GT and my Mach. As for the OP dont rush into anything I kind of did with mine and its not worth it in the long run, wait until you find something you are 100% with something before spending that much money.
