Just bought Mickey Thompson ET Streets, they grip so good you're likely to bog off the line until you get the launching down. They're DOT legal but you won't get any wear out of them if driven everyday. Judging from feedback I've read, if you want a drag radial to daily drive the Nitto 555R is a good choice.

+1 think of the Nitto's being between a good street tire and a good drag radial. If you ask me it's the perfect tire for the street.

im also running the MT ET's... after a quick heat cycle, it bogs when launching at 3500 rpm. ( i havent tried any higher yet )

We're in the same boat. From my brief experience, letting go of the clutch below 4500 rpm will result in bogging. Ofcourse, I don't have quite the oomph you have.

i'll try it higher at a track, everytime i try around here, theres just enough dirt or sand or some random shi+ on the ground to make the tires break loose... once i get the car TRACK READY i'll figure out the magic rpm
