This doesn't happen with the 4.10s as they make 5th an actual pulling gear instead of a mere overdrive gear. (Not that you should race past 130-140 mph anyway)
Stone was your speedo calibrated after the gear install? At redline in 4th I get about 125-126mph. Not that I've done it of course, LOL.

I did. You're probably right. I know my S197 tops out at 124 mph with 4.10s at 6500 rpm (rev limited). I was taking a rough guess at what 300 more RPM would yield, lol. I shouldn't of done that, I just couldn't remember exactly. I didn't take into account the 18" wheels on the S197 either, so your speed makes more sense. My bad, man.

Man thats a huge difference! 4th gear at about 6500 with stock gears is almost 140mph...

It is, and that gap seems to grow the faster you go. At 70 mph, 4.10s only raise your RPM by 300 versus the 3.55s, but at break neck speeds that gap increases. I'm sure if you broke it down by each gear, it would make sense. 3.55s will take you to 145 mph in 4th gear, so there's no doubt 4.10s change things drastically up top. You can still run it past the speedo with 4.10s though, not that we should, lol. Rebel has some vid of my previous 4.10 geared Mach doing some 155 mph top end passes, as well as some in car vid. Can't get that slacker to post it up to save my life though!

No harm man, if anything you had me doubting that I have 4.10s LOL, for a second there I thought, "holy sh*t, that sumb*tch put 4.30s on my car". I did do the 80mph test when I first got it, 3.55s @80=2300rpm. 4.10s @80=2600.

Yea but its not as bad as you think, if you're going boost in the future just stick with 3.55s though. I remember when I dynoed the car stock, in the 4th gear run the car got upto 145mph and the guy couldn't believe it LOL(import shop) he even called a buddy to see if that sounded right. And the one and only time I went up that (in my dreams) I was with a 2 friends, one with a 350Z and one with a CTS-V and even they were surprised that the Machs can go that high in 4th gear, to bad the limiter breaks up the party at 151mph.

I have hit 150 in 4th gear in mine with the stock 3.55's. It was either on the rev limiter or speed limiter.

Pullies and Machs don't mix, stay away from them.

+1 on that!! Stay away from the pullies. For the small amount they help the Mach's, they are not worth the downside (blown motor due to oil pump failure).
