Default What's this 3rd gear noise..

It only does it when I shift into 3rd under high RPM. Here's a vid of the noise. I took it today at the track.... **fast forward to about 2 minutes** and listen for the 3rd gear shift. Its hard to miss, very apparent. Any thoughts on the problem, or could it be my timing with the clutch and simply grinding it? It happen on every single pass.

Mine was doing that and progressively got worse till 3rd gear was gone. My shift fork(s) was bent. I would put a good clutch quadrant, shifter, and firewall adjuster in and it might stop. Its something about the factory plastic pos quad flexing at high rpm shifts and not letting the clutch disengage all the way.

Got the shifter (MGW). I'm going to order a firewall adjuster and see if that helps the disengagement. It sounds like its grinding to me as well, which is usually directly related to clutch engagement, and in Justin's case, a bent fork. Hopefully it will be an external fix. The clutch feels like its brand new, actually it feels better than new and more like an aftermarket one. It grabs hard and never smells hot, even under 4500 rpm launches and powershifting.

I got mine from Lethal Performance. $100 for both, or close to that. Labor to put it in is about 2 hrs. Seriously, I wouldn't run at the track until you put it in. If you do surely granny shift 3rd.
