Default first run with the mach 1.....

my girlfriend has a 04 mach 1, its bone stock besides 4.10 gears and drag radials, the car is not tuned either.
My camaro is a auto so im out of practice with the stick lol.
i didnt get near enough heat in the drag radials so it spun half of first, 2.06 60ft and ran a 13.3 at 104.9.

is that close to what it should be? Im sure i can get a 1.8 or so 60ft so it seems bottom 13's or high 12's would be doable on a good night. the DA was around 2400ft.

Also what mods do you guys recommend first, best bang for the buck.

That time is not bad at all for a person who owns an automatic, you just need some practice (even though I can't say much lol). How are your shift points? Are revving all the gears? If so try revving the first gear to 6800 or so then progressively shift lower. Like 6500 for 2nd gear and 6300 for third. (I am probably wrong on the rpm shift points lol)

That is what I heard on what you have to do for these cars since they stop making power around 6200 or so. I am sure some of the guys will chime in on this. Also once you get your launching down, I am positive you will reach 12.9-13.0. Maybe better if the conditions are ideal for you.

As for mods, best bang for your buck is getting a supercharger lol ;p. It depends on what you want to do with your (gf's) vehicle, I presume it's a DD correct? If so, exhaust and tune should suffice.

thanks! i know i can get the 60ft down, i just didnt get the tires warm enough. i think it shifted close to redline in all the gears and tapped the limiter at the traps instead of hitting 4th. i will try your suggestion for sure. im shooting for anything in the 12's lol.
its not her daily driver, but i told her to not waste money on cams and that crap, they just dont seem to perform. i told her boost is by far the best but she dont want to spend that kind of money yet lol. im thinking a x-pipe and a tune would help some. how much does a generally stock car pick up from a tune? i know LS cars seem to go about 3 tenths faster.

Yeah that's pretty good man. A mach can easily run the 12 with gears and DRs but it's your 1st time in her and 2400 ft doesn't help...and going from a auto chevy to a stick ford doesn't help either, lol. Lower the psi a couple lbs. till she hooks and work on some clutch work to keep the rpm up. After a million passes with 4.10s I liked shiftpoints at 6500, 6300, 6000. The absolute best bang for the buck mod, especially for a 4v, is an o/r x pipe.

Edit...just saw your question about the tune. Easy to see difference on dyno graphs, but I couldn't ever quantify what it yielded on the track. I never could see spending the loot on one. I had the Diablo 93 octane tune and she ran like a banshee. Got the "left bank too lean" code a couple times after installing longtubes so I just manually added fuel.
