My First Stang
#22
I assure you I am only a novice. It probably takes me 30 minutes to do what a more skilled Photoshopper can do in about 2. Here's what the hood will look like if I just go over the outline of the BOSS stripe.

yeah...i dont like the thing in the center or the horizontal line. It just doesnt go with the lines of the body. Then again, it is ur car and u never know how it might look when the real thing is on

Tim,
I'm from Gauley Bridge. I don't believe I've ever been to Elkins.
Nemesis,
Honestly, I hate stripes... of any kind. However, as an affordable solution, I was thinking of something along the lines of the 2nd link you posted, but I was going to try to achieve a similar look by just masking around the current stripe and filling in BOSS so it is no longer detectable. I was looking close at the stripes on the hood and whoever installed them used a razor blade to cut straight lines into the paint so they would get the decal on straight. If I remove the stripes all together, the hood would definitely need to be painted. I'm not sure about the fenders and doors... couldn't see any lines on those.

I've had the Stang for less than a week and I've already washed and waxed it twice! In all fairness, I used Turtle Wax Ice the first time... today I used Meguiar's NXT 2.0. Anyway, I took some new pics after I finished and decided to do some Photoshop work before I resized them... so much easier to highlight the right areas. Here's the outcome:

I decided to name the car "ENVY" and I'm going to tint the tails instead of getting covers. I believe I'll leave the word "ENVY" untinted on the 3rd brake light.

After I thought about it, I think calling it ENVY might actually be the same as sayin that I"M green with ENVY... lol. How about we call it "BIG NASTY", haha. In all honesty, I probably won't put words on it anywhere. I'd like to make it as clean looking as possible. Here's a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff that I'm looking into... not sure how soon I'll be able to get the majority of it though. Only working half-time and going to school full-time doesn't prove to be mod friendly. I think I might have to pick up a summer job.

I have a few other things on my list aside from the cowl hood and above listed items... a full tune-up and pullies being the most significant. I should be able to get back a portion of what I invest by selling my stock wheels and tires and Magnaflow mufflers. Just as everything else I buy and mod, this will undoubtedly turn into a neverending work-in-process.
Does anyone have an opinion on that SRI? I really don't want a CAI, so I figured this would at least be better than stock.

I love the wheels As far as the headers, i would try to get a hold of some ceramic coated ones like mine (even if they cost a bit more) because it wont tarnish with the heat Idk...i prefer brand names with trust such as Magnaflow and K&N, personally i hate Pypes, i think their inferior POS's....but then again i don't own any...and well, i don't have a K&N yet, but i wouldn't spend $$$ on something you cant review. What i mean is like....what brand name is that intake? And then also, the tube is aluminum, clearly its pretty thin too....doesn't that defeat the purpose of "cold" air intake when that engine bay gets hot? lol. Just something i think u should give a thought....cause I too am a full time college student...but trust me, if u buy the right things the first time then its all over with and u don't have to get around to it again in the future
