My First Stang
The BOSS stripe has to go, imo. Other things on my list include: tint, headlight and taillight covers, new exhaust tips (current ones are rusty), and new wheels.
I'm not sure if I want to remove the stripe or just mask around it and do a flat or semi-gloss black stripe. It looks like it would leave residue behind if I removed it.
Anyway, its a 2000 GT with 65k miles and I snagged it for $5k.

Parts Since Purchase:
-Smoked Headlights
-Grille Delete
-Tinted Tails
-Shorty Antenna
-NGK V-Power Plugs
-Motorcraft Serpentine Belt
-Passenger Door Lock Actuator
-Fuel Filter

Looks good man! First thing I would do would be get some new headlights from Americanmuscle.com because them look terrible and then a set of HID's from:

I'll probably wetsand these ones so a little more light will shine through, but I plan on getting covers for the headlights and taillights. I'm not too concerned if they won't look perfect because they'll be covered the majority of the time.
Any suggestions as to what I should do about the stripe? I'm thinking that masking it off and doing a solid black stripe over it might be the best option. I'll have to fire up Photoshop to see what it looks like.

Personally for the stripes I think u should either just get rid of it....or use a combination of stripes such as these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9-Ral...Q5fAccessories) and these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2BSI%26otn%3D4) either in white, black, or gray. But then again, it is ur car....and whatever u do to it pretty much determines ur likes which is the most important thing
Tim,
I'm from Gauley Bridge. I don't believe I've ever been to Elkins.
Nemesis,
Honestly, I hate stripes... of any kind. However, as an affordable solution, I was thinking of something along the lines of the 2nd link you posted, but I was going to try to achieve a similar look by just masking around the current stripe and filling in BOSS so it is no longer detectable. I was looking close at the stripes on the hood and whoever installed them used a razor blade to cut straight lines into the paint so they would get the decal on straight. If I remove the stripes all together, the hood would definitely need to be painted. I'm not sure about the fenders and doors... couldn't see any lines on those.

Nice ride.
That's too bad about the stripes. Looks good in front of the spoiler, but awful on the sides. They don't flow with the lines of the car at all.
Yep, dealer badge has gotta go like yesterday!
