Oh and in case anybody is curious, these cars hold their value. The insurance payout was $1,500 greater than what we originally financed in 2006. But this may also be due to the 07 only having 31k miles on it. Other than a new car note, it worked out pretty well.

Thanks to all, the new design is really growing on me. I preferred the 05-09 to the 2010, but we're diggin it so far.

Depending on which month in 07 you put that car on the road, you're actually into the average mile bracket (12K miles a year).
So good for you on the given extra dough.

Very true. We purchased it Dec 28, 2006, and loaded 15k miles into the first year. But for the last two years my wife and I carpool and my truck is HIGH mileage so we hardly drove the stang...I guess about 8k per year the last two years.

What's quite nice is getting to move from a deluxe to a premium, in fact this one was on the showroom floor, it felt kinda cool. The extra moolah is helping to get a tune and the Corsa system back on immediately, rather than having to space it out.

You may start seeing some great rebates from Ford in the spring. They were doing $3k incentives here last spring, but by that time automatic GT's were hard to find. Manual were all over though, but this was also the 45th anniversary edition. People may be holding out for the '11 so there may be more '10 choices on the lots, but it all depends on what you want and when. Anyways, always fun to go look and take one for a spin.. just gotta deal with the sales ppl eyeing you like a piece of meat lol.

BTW, the comment I highlighted in bold confuses me... you say you're skeptical of the first year run or a complete redesign, well the 2010 is a complete redesign, yet you bought it.
mechanically its nearly a twin to the previous years. The quality and cosmetic changes are the real difference. Next year will have the new engine and transmission choices that he is likely referring to being a new model year.

The "new" 5.0L isnt really new, its new to being a production engine but Ford has been running the design for for several years in the Koni challenge series. The "Cammer" crate engine which has been available for a while and the new Coyote are basically the same engine.

congrats on the new 2010, good to hear that you walked out of the 2007 crash. You definitley smashed that stang up.
I like the 2010s they are slick but I'm prob gonna wait for the 2011 5.0L, or the GT500. Havent made up my mind just yet.
Goodluck with the new stang.

Good to hear you came out without a scratch. Looks like a pretty solid wreck, nice new ride though
