Default Michigan roads

If you live in Michigan, especially in and around Detroit, you know how crappy the roads are. I really want to lower my car but am afraid because the roads are just atrocious in the places I travel. I've already scraped the bottom of my car a few times and it has stock suspension!!! Any opinions on what I should do? Just drop the car and drive extremely careful or just not drop it at all? Will bigger tires help at all?

Well no the same model but I do have my car lowered and no problems with the roads other than the stupid bumps and potholes. Nothing out of the ordinary thou. Its lowered about 1.5"'s too.

1.5' is what I'm looking to lower my car too. I see you have the Vogtland springs. How are they? What's the ride like? I've heard good things. Personally, I'm looking at some H&R springs.
