Mustang Alley Friday Track Event Vid
Finally got my video on YouTube of the Mustang Alley Friday Track Event at Ford's Dearborn Product Development Center. It took place the day before the official Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 15th and was by invitation to Mustang Alley registered Mustang owners only.
Staging for the event was at the Dearborn Hyatt Regency where we met and registered. We were then escorted to Ford's Dearborn Development Center, formerly known as the Ford Proving Grounds, then to the Product Review Center for a briefing and photo ops with a Ford GT.
We then had a very comprehensive tour of the tracks and test roads. We then drove some new Fords on the lower end of the pink #8 Steering and Handling Course, as shown on the wall banner in the video. After that it was on to the Hot Laps on the upper portion of the #8 track, which was highly anticipated by everyone. I felt fortunate to get a ride in a Ford GT and was not at all disappointed. It was so fast and the handling and grip were unbelievable. We got airborne over the hill section and came down extremely hard yet in complete control. I also rode in a Focus that was prepped for road racing, I believe. My driver drove the car so hard that he broke it after several extremely hard landings off the hill section as seen in the video. We had to limp back to the pit area and retire the car for the afternoon.
And finally we had a drifting demo by champion drifter, Vaughn Gitten Jr. in his 2010 Mustang race car.
What a blast this event was. They plan on having it again next year. Any mustang owner, except those who participated in the 2009 event, who registers for Mustang Alley at the Woodward Dream Cruise will be eligible.
I am very grateful to Ford Motor Company for allowing this event at their Dearborn Development Center. I'd also like to thank the volenteers who were such great hosts and took the photos you see in this video. We were not allowed to take cameras to the track.
Hope you like the Video. -wingman-

Since we can't I thought I would make the video so I could look at it now and then and remember what a great time I had. In case you haven't seen the rest of the photos the Ford Photographers took here's a link. http://mustangalley2009.shutterfly.com/
I see 2 guys in front of your car, I assume one of them is you, right? Which photo?
Thanks for watching,
-Jack-
