It is attached to the transmission under the passenger side of the engine. If it's a V8 it is a pain to get it out.

i had to support the motor with a jack and remove the motor / frame mount from the passenger side to slide that sucker out of there...... be prepared for that (its not like its hard, its just the whole "wtf" thing)

I pulled the rack and pinion off and squeezed it through there. It was tight but it fit.

I pulled the rack, but didn't move the engine at all. It seemed easier to me.

That's the way I did it....easy job turned into a pain in the rump! Oh the stress we endure to keep those with 302's alive and well - LOL!
I honestly don't believe that I'll ever part with mine.....ever. I didn't go looking for one specifically but after I got mine and played around with ti for a while - I'm hooked and probably will be forever now!

That's funny - your wife hates it? My wife loves the damn thing. Unless you own one and have driven a "modified II" you just don't have any idea how much they really are! The looks I get are incredible......it goes from "you own a M-II? (Snicker under the breathe)" to "Holy SH*T, that thing can FLY!!! (Thinking - I gotta load of work to do to my - insert car here - fox body, camaro, etc...)"

I pulled it out Saturday into my front yard, gave it a good wash and wax, slicked it up pretty good, and had three people stop within 2 hours wanting to know if it was for sale....I told them "Sure!!!! $10K!!!!" They got back in their beaters and drove away shaking their heads. One guy told me I was crazy, I told him there wasn't a For Sale sign on it, so he was the crazy one for even stopping to ask! Maybe I was being a bit cocky about it - so what - it's titled in my name, it's in my possession and everyone drools over it when they see it - I'm allowed to be cocky about it.

Got my gas tank back Friday....had a leak - had it welded and sealed.....now I need a new fuel sender/pickup unit - Do you know where I can find one or do know if there is another one that will fit? (From another year or car?) My float and everything was toast - I'll send you a picture tonight - it was UGLY!!!
