Ford did a much better job capturing the true spirit of the Mustang styling with the 05+ models. The Camaro concept is only similar to the original. It wouldn't make me trade-in my new Mustang.

I think that's the main problem I've been having with the styling of the Camaro concept.......in alot of ways it just doesn't "look" like a Camaro. I feel that the side profile is about the only tie to previous generation Camaro's that it has. This is supposed to represent an iconic pony car. If it can't get away with not having any badges to tell you what it's supposed to be, then it fails to live up to its legacy. Sure, I'm all for moving forward and doing something different. But there's a thin line between moving a legacy forward into the future, and ditching it completely for something totally different and new.

Having said this, I wish I had a pic of the first concept they made for the new Camaro.....the one that was scrapped at the 2 minute warning before unveiling because it looked "too" much like the first gen Camaro. I would love to get everyone's impressions on that thing. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Ok, these are the only shots of the original aborted Camaro concept I could find. Take a look. The first pic compares the original concept (top) with the final released version (bottom). The other pic compares both concepts to a first gen model.

Sorry to keep breaking it to you guys.......but you're not gonna drive off the Chevy lot with a 450hp Camaro for 30K. MSRP on the 400hp models will likely range from 31K-36K. The top of the line 450+hp model is expecting to price out in the upper 30's or low 40's. If you find a place that ends up selling them for the same price as a Mustang GT, lemme know.......I can make some money on Ebay.

This is why GM would be smart to offer a sub-400hp model for the Camaro........maybe with the new 5.3 (as some have talked about). That car could compete head to head with the Mustang GT both in price and performance. But as for seeing a 400+hp Camaro pricing under 30K.........I wouldn't hold my breath.
The GTO was the cheapest 400hp car available on the market anywhere (MSRP 31-34K).........GM isn't gonna get cheaper than that with more hp without cutting lots of corners. The base platform isn't where the cost difference between models comes from.......it's from the powerplants.

Im gonna have to disagree...but then again well never really know for sure till its actually out, but from what Ive heard and know about their pricing is they want it to be about where it was high to low 20 for a V6, V8 now with a ls2 is an easy 400 low to mid 20 for a z28 and 450 ss I could see at mid to high 20's or maybe high 20 low 30 somewhere in there, thats where the old camaro left off, I think the most expensive I saw in 02 was a Convt 35th anniv edit for 36. But again We will just have to wait and see, I think ...... and hope thats what they do. Otherwise They may have a hard time I think with the market. The GTO is also a more refined car...meaning creature comforts, which is why it was more expensive. The Camaro is a best bang for the buck kinda car IMHO. And I like that. Heres keeping my fingers crossed.

the thing most people seem to forget is Camaro's have always been the best performance for less money dollar for dollar they are better than even a vette if you figure out power and cost its a no brainer they have also always produced more power than a mustang and been cheaper or right in the same price catagory but what would I know I am just a dumb *** F-body owner. that was my 2 cents yall have fun
