RE: Official 2010 Camaro Specs LEAKED!!!
I have to say that, the camaro will be a nice car. The looks never been better than the stangs and are still not, thats why more mustangs are being sold. I personally belive that the straight line performance will be dead even with the manual ls2 gto, simpily because it weighs 100lbs more but also has a tiny bit more power(manual) and wider rubber. I personally think that there is no way that this car, in any model, will be priced near the s197 with similar options. It's just got too much into it, new body style, irs, ls3, 6-speed trannies, etc. I mean a bare bones ss model with no options and a manual can't cost less than $30k, just look at the g8 it starts at what $29,999??
Anyway, I think GM might have made a mistake, again, they probally should have saved some $$$ buy putting a solid rear, and if, say a ls1 or ls2 is cheaper, they should have used one of those and built a 400hp ls2 or 350h ls1 car that weighed a lil less then maybe they could the price/performance closer to the s197.
The fact of the matter is that most people buying these american "sporty cars" could care less about an irs. They are either a v6 buyer that just want the cool looks, for a reasonable price or they want the performance of stright line acceleration. I guess we will see how they are priced around spring of 2009 but i think they will have stealership mark up's(at least on the SS model's) for the first year.
-Side note on the 3.6 v6, did you guys see it has 11.3:1 compression and redline at 7000rpm??
I wonder how the aftermarket will be for that thing. Those specs are similar to the E46 M3's 3.2

RE: Official 2010 Camaro Specs LEAKED!!!
exactly....most casual buyers will still prefer the Mustang for its price....
I guess that's the case for the Challenger and Camaro now....you almost have to be a niche buyer to buy them...expecially with dealer markups

IMO, Dodge is taking a better approach to their new muscle car. They had the ***** to intro the concept and then get it into freaking production in a decent time frame.(I think it looks a whole lot cooler on the exterior than the Camaro too.)
