rumor has it, this bad boy is going to be several hundred lbs lighter then the current gt500 as well as have more hp. an insider on svtperformance.com also claims its going to be more directly competitive with the z06 then the last gt500. SWEET!

I noticed the pictures have the stripes, fender badges and rear medallion covered up. On the latest GT spy shots, the rear medallion clearly reads "GT". With the expected power bump, is it possible it might not even be a GT500, but like a GT600 or something to that effect to go with it's new hp #. I mean the GT500 had 500 hp so why couldn't the new Shelby Cobra get an updated name? I know GT500 is legendary, but with almost 200 more hp than the SS and the SRT8, I'd flaunt it if I were Ford.

Can we get some traction! Although, trimming the fat will help, I dont think I will see the day when a mustang is superior to the Z06. If they somehow accomplish this, the ZR1 will still put the vette on top.

the rear end of the new mustang gt looks VERY promising to me, I definitely will be looking into this model as a replacement for my 01.
