HPS finally released the 5.4 2v intake
talked to them the other day. They're taking orders and deposits. They also dropped the price to 695 shipped. I already got mine and it's way nice. Another couple guys I know have gotten theirs too. Should have dyno numbers for at least 2 of our cars over the next couple weeks.
it fits under a stock hood and bolts up just like stock. requires use of a 5.4L heater tube (behind the water pump in the valley) or you can change that to a standard soft line. I went the soft line route. Easier to replace.
here's pics (one of the other guys cars, mine's in getting longtubes fabbed):

Keep up the good word! Please keep us updated. I was one of the pioneers with the 5.4L and worked with Bob when he started the project. Even sacrificed a 5.4L van intake to the cause. I will love to see some dyno numbers and track times...

I sent him an intake too... hmmm we should chat. PM me some contact info if you would.
first car out of the gate with the new intake made 271/316 to the tires from an automatic (works out to 340bhp/390btq at 20% losses) on an imperfect tune. I made 280/333 (~330bhp/390btq @ 15% losses) through my 5 speed with a modified HPS 4.6 intake on adapter plates wtih the tune backed off a good bit. His longtubes are on now and he's going back to the dyno. My longtubes are almost done and I'll be on the dyno in a week or two. I port matched my new 5.4 HPS intake to my heads, the other guy ran it as cast but his is now port matched IIRC.
Here's some pics of my 1.75" tube headers being made, they will be available for retail purchase too!

Wikipedia is your friend.
To summarize, it's an intake. It funnels the fuel and air mixture into the cylinders on your engine. If it sucks then your engine doesn't get enough fuel/air and you don't get a lot of HP/TQ. It's design can also influence the amount of HP vs TQ you'll get out of an engine so it's not just good intakes vs bad intakes, picking one is a balancing act of how and where you want to distribute your power curve.

Maximum Motorsports has officially added k-member spacers to their product offerings.
These are perfect for dropping 5.4 4v motors into SN95 bodies and allows the engine to clear the brake booster.
