Does anybody know if Ford is going to do anything to compete with the Camaro LE1 in 2014? The Boss 302 is discontinuing production in 2013.

LE1 MSRP's at 37k.
LE1 is not a limited edition car - its just a option package on top of the SS
Chevrolet is making claims that the LE1 is quicker than a standard Boss 302 in testing at VIR.

GM is always "making claims". Too bad many of them don't seem to be independently reproducable.

I wouldn't worry about Ford leaving an opening in the lineup for a new Chevy model to capitalize on. I would bet good money Ford will slot something in between the GT and GT500 for 2014.

Consider the sources and the preliminary nature. I never have full confidence in car mag or manufacturer hype. Personally I have a tough time seeing how a heavier car can beat a lighter one with this magnetic dampened suspension voodoo, engine power being about equal. The independent rear of the camaro had some issues with shorter gears (teeth shredder), I'd like to know how that was fixed too.

I wouldn't hold my breath for FORD in 2014 either. Taking away the BOSS again.. is just dumb.
