Ok, so my 4.6 blew and needs to be replaced. I have a guy who has a new 302 around he'll sell to me for $3,700. It has nothing, just the motor (no fuel injection, intake, distributor, etc.) How many of those things are compatible between the 4.6 and the 5.0? How much would I have in the swap if I do it myself? What else is required to swap?

 

also, I should add my car's a manual.

 

You will need the new computer/pcm, new transmission, wiring harness, figure out how to switch to the electronic power steering, and a lot of other things. You can't just drop the 5.0 in and bolt it up. Ford Racing has a PCM for the manual and wiring harness I believe.
