Ok, all the LS1 vs Me races w/ sound!!
Ok, dunno why, but i get sound thru streetfire but not on my computer. Here is the full video (with the after race stuff cut out of course) on a half *** decent compressor.
Race 1: From a stop. No tire heating on either car. Ran to about 100 MPH
Race 2: From a roll. I short shifted into 3rd and he hangs with me till we stop at around the top of 3rd (I think). We were a little nervous on this road it was very narrow.
Race 3: GD camera gets zoomed in here, so you get a very close look at what is going on
From a stop. Both of us just cleaned off the tires with a very short burnout. If you listen closely, you can see it acutally hurt me, as the tires grab and I launched at too low an RPM, and bogged. The D/Rs wern't doing much here.
Race 4: From a 30 Roll. Camera still zoomed in. If you listen (all exaust noise is mine) you can hear how fast I have to shift, as I was at the top of 1st. We took this one to 110. At the end of the race, even with the stupid camera zoomed in, you can tell he is quite a bit back (acutally hit my shifts this time).
Race 5: From a 40 roll. (starting in 2nd). I pull on em pretty bad, and at about 90 he lets out. He got nervous when the car didn't shift at exactly the usual speed or something, I dunno. It was pretty much over anyway.
I am gonna try to get up there again when I get my yoke fixed (the car starts to vibrate like crazy at about 80 MPH) and do a few higher rolls, just to see the result. I dunno if I will ever powershift a trans in my car again (3.5K really hurts your wallet) but I would like to totally beat on the car one or two times with him to see if it makes any difference. You can really tell how important it is with the cams to shift at just the right point from the 1st roll race compared to the others. About 500 rpm or so can really screw me over. I think he is gonna need at LEAST some gears and a stall to hang with me from a stop.
However, I was pretty impressed with his car. It really runs good for basically being a stock car. Stock vs stock my car would have no chance whatsoever from a stop or a roll.
