Default Another Newb here

Hi all!! I just bought my first Mustang This past week. I got a 1996 GT Convertable. It's a beautiful Car!!! It's black with a tan top and tan leather interior. It has the Mach sound system with CD and Cassette. I bought it from a guy who babied it. It was kept in the garage out of the weather and only driven a little over 3k miles a year. Yes, it's in mint condition!!! Now that I have it, I have a few questions. Can anyone tell me what is a good oil to put in it and also what kind of coolant. I need to top off both of these this week. Also if you have any other advice to give a Newbie I will be more this happy to learn from ya.

The oil is really a matter of preference. I have always used halvoline or castrol in my vehicles.
And as far as coolant goes....I prefer the Halvoline brand orange stuff. Best bet would be to ask the previous owner what he always used in it.
Enjoy your new ride!

Hey partner!!!! Awsome to have another stanger in MF!!! The car looks beautiful, nice to know shes been well taken care of.... As for as oil goes I use Mobil 1 and love it..... ANything Synthetic she'll love in her motor... Royal Purple is pricey but works great!!! As far as coolant goes I'd ask the previous owner on what he used in it... Prestone and Halvoline are good choices..... If the car only has a little over 20k miles on her you found yourself an awesome deal!!!!! But since the car sounds like it has sat alot, you might want to do a radiator flush, tranny flush... Just freshen up all the fluids in the car.... No need to bother with rear differential, not enough miles on her yet......

glad to have you here! I use Pennzoil in my street vehicles and Royal Purple in the race car and I've always had good experience with Prestone antifreeze too. of course you should check back with the previous owner and see what he used also.

Thanks Guys for all the input!! I am sure I will have more questions later. It has been raining and snowing all week I hope it stops soon so I can pull it out of the garage again Looking at it in the garage only goes so far. *L*
