Default New Project

Hello all, I recently purchased a 69 Grande, 351w with auto trans.
The body is about 95% solid and the interrior decent.
I have the engine out and at the machine shop, should be running in a few weeks.
The wife said we needed somplace to put all our EXTRA money so I felt I should
do all I could to help out.

are you going to get hardened valve seats installed in the heads so you can run unleaded gas? now would be the time to do it with the motor out of the car and all. you might also want to make sure the compression ratio will allow you to run pump gas that's available now versus the high test it probably used back in the day. welcome to the crowd too!

Yes I will put hardened seats in. Seems there is some difference in opinnion as to how necessary it is, depending on the type of use, of course. As for c.r. I would like to be at about 9.5 to 1. It may come out a littlr higher depending on how much it has to be bored but I dont want to exceed 10 to 1 and would prefer to stay lower.

I will try to post some pics, will have to get the kids to help, Im not the moste computer literate person in town!! The car needs to be restored, it looks ok from a distance and the body/chassis is in pretty fair shape as is the interrior but it definitaly shows its 35 years of age, but I wanted a project so it works for me .
