New guy, new car??
I'm new here on the forum and have just returned from a 600 mile round trip to look at a 1990 GT with 12k miles on the clock. The car is in fantastic shape, apparently the owner before the current one had stored it for 10 years. It looks almost like it just came off the showroom floor. The guy who has it now has put about 1500 miles on it since he has owned. He is asking $12,500 for it. My question is, would this be too much to pay for this car. I have offered $10,000 but have yet to hear if he will take it. The car needs tires and the A/C has a leak, thats it!!! Also the car is totally stock, no mods what so ever!!! What a find, or is it????

RE: New guy, new car??
It depends how much the car is worth to you. Have you always wanted a 1990 LX? I personally wouldn't give him more than $8800. Here's why, very few people have $12,500 to spend on a 16 year old car. No lending institution is going to loan that kind of money for a 1990 anything. People who do have $12500, $10,000 or even $9500 usually arent looking at a 1990 LX no matter how clean it is. The only people who will spend that kind of money are Mustang car buffs with deep pockets, and they are hard to come by. Let him hold on to the car 'til about February, he'll deliverthe car at that point.
