Default 68 looking to upgrade performance

hello folks, I am new to the forum

I have a 68 convertible that I have owned for many years but has been in storage since the early 90s. It originally has a 200 straight 6 and , for no other reason that wanting more power, I am interested in putting a 302 in it. Can anyone give me the short answer as to what kind of modifications need to be made or is this a fairly straight-forward boltup conversion? Both would be automatic transmission, currently no power steering or a/c. Also, I have spoken with a number of owners who say the 302 is best, others say go with the 289. Any input there?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I'd suggest posting your question on the Classic Mustang section of the forum. There are a lot of people there who may know what you need to do.
