Did I find the right Mustang forum ??
hey guys .. I just found this forum, andthought I'd register. You've got lots of information on here, or at least that's what I've noticed so far - nice
in short: They want to test me on a Mustang It's supposed to be a test for me for a new job, for which I'm supposed to go, see, and fix a Mustang of some sort, but I don't know nothing about the car. I've been told that there's something wrong with it, and that's all. Now I'm a turbo Honda guy, and know nothing about Mustangs, so I need help. What I suspect, if not fuel related then it's supposed to be ignition problem (I hope it's notautomatic).
anyways, I hope the search works good on here, cause I'm gonna have to find lot's of info in short time.I'll try to find the firing order of each engine, and what base timing each runs at first .. and ... OMG, I'm so screwed. [&:]
so would you like to help my sorry *** ??I'll post whatever I find after I see the car on Friday

RE: Did I find the right Mustang forum ??
So far I found:
If it's an 88 to 93 mustang with the 5.0 engine and it turns out to be ignition the most common problem is the module that bolts to the outside of the distributor. The distributor in the 5.0 turns counter clockwise and the firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
The 3.8 v6 firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6.
On both engines the passenger side cylinder closest to the front of the car is number one and the numbers progress back towards the firewall. So the passenger side front cylinder will be number one and the passenger side rear will be number four.

RE: Did I find the right Mustang forum ??
I know more about the 5.0's. My 92 5.0 wouldn't start and it was the ignition module which commonly goes badand sometimes it can be the ignition coil. I can't help you on the firing order. I'm dumb too that.
