new member needs help!
hi everyone. im new to the mustang forum, i heard about this website from my cousin. i drive a 96' Mustang with about 200,000 mileage on it. ( i know it's a lot)
i have a question though if someone has any tips or ideas on what my problem is on my car. um, the other day i was cleaning my car and i decided to spray my belt with some auto belt solution. after i sprayed the belt and i started my engine it started to make a whistle noise? which, wasnt there before i sprayed the belt. so im definitely stumped, because i took my car to Sear's to get checked and they told me it wasn't the belt and that they tightened it for me, but the sound is still there?? so if anyone knows whats wrong or has any tips for me i'd appreciate it, because i don't know what to do.
Thanks.
Christina

Why did you sprayed the belt to begin with? Anyway, your belt is "chirping". I have the same with a 99 Ford Ranger PU. Ford has changed the tensioners, pulleys, belt, etc. and still chirps from time to time, specially afert a rainy day..beleive or not. I would recommend you take to a Ford dealer and let them take a look at it...
