Good Morning, FNG reporting for duty!
I'm Jason, and I live in East TN. I've got a '89 LX Sport 5.0 Hatchback that I bought as a project car. It's in pretty good condition body wise, but mechanically and interior wise, it's needing some work. I bought it with restoring it in mind so it's all good. I really wanted to go with a vintage mustang, but decided to start with the fox body. I originally had my eye on a '69 coupe that belonged to my aunt who bought it new. It had set intheir barn for years, and I had started making plans to purchase it. I got deployed to the desert and when I came back it was gone. So, now I have this 25th Anniversary car and I'm getting ready to start my project. I'll probably be asking quite a few questions since it's my first restore project, but you've got to start somewhere right? I'm not looking for this car to out run everybody on the street, but I would like to make some modificationsto help it run better that stock. Nothing major, I want it to stay a street car and a driver. I took her out on a shake down cruise not long after I bought her, and did just that. About a mile from home she lost oil pressure. Which is fine, I was going to overhaul the engine anyway. So, I'll be asking questions on which combo works the best, different tricks on how to's, etc. See you on the forum.
