Default Engine parts

My Dad is the original owner of a 1965 Mustang with 137,000 miles on her. Two of the cylinders are down to 20 lbs of pressure instead of 100 lbs. He wants to know what is the difference in the car's integrity and value if he uses new parts to rebuild versus original (numbered) parts -- anyone have any idea?
Thanks,

Hi Barbro, welcome to Mustang Forums!

I would guess that using after market internal engine parts will not cause a drop in the integrity or value of your all original car, as long as they are quality parts, but that is just my guess. You might want to post the same question in the Classic section of the forum, you will get many more responses than here.

Good luck!
