Default Performance questions

Im making a list for my future car (im only 15, so it might be awhile till i get one)I'm wondering, if i end up getting a 3.8L, should i spend time trying to build up that engine, or would it be cheaper to throw in, say, a 2003 cobra engine? Is there a bulletproof engine out there able to handle 600+ horses comfortably? Also, I hear alot about F.A.S.T. engine management systems, would that be a good choice for what i wanna do, or is there a better system out there? ANY help is much appreciated.

Default RE: Performance questions

I think a 03-04 cobra engine might be over doing it a little, you would need a new trannie and prolly rear axle if you did that. Personally I would put a blower on the 3.8, or preferably drop in a 99+ GT or 99/01 cobra crate motor, with tranny if you can afford it.

If you want to hop up a 3.8, it would probobly be more cost effective to just buy a GT/Cobra (99/01 is probobly all you should be looking at). The only reason I can think of to start with a 3.8 is insurance, but it's a very good reason lol.

I originally started looking at 99 GT's and ended up with a 04 Mach 1, price just keeps jumping but if you can spend the money the Mach is a blast, has better suspention than an 99/01 Cobra with about the same speed, faster than a 99+ GT, and the shaker hood scoop is just plain cool.

BTW, Welcome to the Forums.
